Cascina I Turri” winery

The vineyards of the Cascina I Turri are located in the heart of Northern Monferrato, among the sweet slopes of Cremolino (Alessandria, Piedmont), dominated by the 15th century Malaspina Castle. Small wooded areas alternate with rolling hills of white tufaceous soils, where the sun’s caress contrasts with the green of the vine and the dark red of the ripe bunches. Timeless atmosphere, pristine environment, expression of prosperity.

This small family-run business focuses its production on two high-quality wines only, Timorasso and Dolcetto d’Ovada. The farm’s vineyards cover 6 hilly hectares exclusively devoted to the production of Dolcetto d’Ovada DOC, which originates from white soils in a “red stalk” variety. This odd combination yields an excellent label, Rosso del Console, which is named after the Honorary Consul of Hungary Albert Frank, a great wine enthusiast who started this activity 15 years ago. Today the company is managed by the Consul’s daughter in law, Alessandra Frank, who continues the business by maintaining the high quality level and introducing new innovative wine-making techniques. Dolcetto is cultivated in compliance with traditions and quality, thus justifying the limited production of 40,000 bottles.
